choose the right roller ski model

When choosing a roller ski model that is right for you, there are
various factors to consider.
● Experience
● Age
● Use/needs
● Classic/skating
● Surface

In addition, it will be an advantage to know which materials and wheels to choose from, as this has a major impact on the experience and benefits of roller skiing.

Swenor's roller ski portfolio can be divided into two main groups: roller skis with aluminum frames and roller skis made of wood laminate. Within both main categories, Swenor offers a range of models for classic, skating and combined.

The roller ski selector will be able to help you find one or more models that meet your wishes and needs.

When it comes to which type of wheel to choose, both the roller ski model, skill level and preference will play a role.
The options available will be stated for each individual roller ski model. A more detailed description follows below.

Material

Wood laminate
The biggest advantage of a Swenor roller ski with a wood laminate base is
the genuine ski feeling it gives. Wood laminate frames provide very good
vibration damping on rough surfaces, as well as a natural flex. With a
Swenor roller ski with a wood laminate base, you will experience very good
contact with the surface. These roller skis will be heavier than the models with aluminum frames.

Classic:
Swenor Fibreglass, Swenor Finstep and Swenor Carbonfibre.

Sk ating: Swenor Skate Elite

Aluminum
‍ The main advantages of a Swenor roller ski with an aluminum frame are
the light weight and the sturdy and rigid construction. Compared
with a wooden laminate roller ski, an aluminum roller ski will consequently
be perceived as more stable and steady in use. This applies to all
Swenor's aluminum roller skis.

Classic:
Swenor Alutech, Swenor Alu Classic Elite, Swenor Alutech Jr, Swenor Tristar Classic.

Skating:
Swenor Skate, Swenor Skate Long, Swenor Skate Extra Long, Swenor Skate Jr, Swenor Equipe R2.

wheels

Swenor prides itself on delivering roller skis with high-quality wheels.

What is considered a standard wheel on a Swenor roller ski, both in classic and skating, is a so-called 2 wheel (#2 wheel).
These wheels are considered to have medium rolling resistance.

Swenor also offers 1 wheels (#1 wheel) and 3 wheels (#3 wheel) for most models, as well as 4 wheels (34 wheel) for a few models. A #1 wheel has the least rolling resistance and is easy to roll, while #2, #3 and #4 wheels have progressively greater rolling resistance.

Swenor also offers competition and speed wheels made of polyurethane, as well as wheels specially designed for roller skiing.

All wheel assembly is done by hand, as part of our quality control.
